Can I bring my service animal to a guild meeting?

Certified therapy and service animals are allowed to attend meetings as long as they are well behaved and kept under control. If you plan on bringing a service animal to the meeting, notify a guild officer or email goldenfleecespinners@gmail.com a minimum of three days in advance of the meeting so guild members with animal allergies can be notified.

I’m allergic to certain animal fibers (e.g. angora, yak), certain foods, perfume, etc. What is the guild policy on members with allergies?

If you have an allergy to something that might be brought to a guild meeting – fiber, food, whatever may be encountered at a guild meeting –  advise a guild officer or email goldenfleecespinners@gmail.com.  Otherwise, we don’t know about your allergy.  In this way, we can work to avoid the allergen coming to the meeting or prepare attendees in advance of a possible encounter.  

We want everyone to feel included and valued, and to be able to participate and enjoy our community, without limitation, to the best of our ability. Just as we take our vegan and vegetarian members into consideration when we have our meals, we need to respect, be sensitive to and accommodate these issues so that all of our members can relax, participate and enjoy our group.

Does the guild meet in the summer?

The July and August informal guild meetings are held outdoors at Onondaga Lake Park, near the Wegmans Good Dog Park. Bring your spinning, knitting, crocheting, etc for a relaxing time of crafting and conversation. Also bring sunscreen and bug spray. In case of inclement weather we will meet at the Grace Episcopal Church in Baldwinsville, NY.

Can my children attend guild meetings?

A family membership is available for an adult member and immediate family members under the age of 21. The adult pays $20 per year membership dues and each family member under the age of 21 will pay $10 per year membership dues. Adults are required to attend meetings and be on
premises with underage children.

How many meetings can I attend as a guest?

Guests may attend two meetings during the year without becoming an active member.
