This meeting will be an informal series of mini presentations in which members will visit small stations set up around the basement showcasing a tool or skill by our talented guild members. If you haven’t yet signed up to present your favorite skill/method/tool and would like to, please come to the meeting prepared to demonstrate your talent. At one of the stations, Sue Jones will demonstrate her knitting machine. If you are so inclined, bring yarn and crank a hat to donate to Vera House.

Saturday/Sunday November 5-6th: Fiber Festival of New England in West Springfield, MA
Saturday November 19th, 10:00am – 2:00pm: Charity Knit/Crochet
Bring your knitting needles and crochet hooks, patterns and yarn to craft items for local charities. Yarn should be acrylic or a very washable wool blend. Cold weather is coming and hats, scarves, mittens, etc are very much needed and appreciated by our less fortunate neighbors. Another option is to bring completed items to donate, Christina Tartaro will collect them for distribution to various organizations.

Bring treats to share with the group if you are so inclined. Bring your spinning, knitting, crocheting, etc for a relaxing break from the hectic holidays.

For the Pot-Luck Lunch, bring a dish to pass and your table setting. Decorate your wheel and play Sheep Breed Bingo.

Mindful crafting, yoga stretches and meditations for crafters.
March
Saturday March 18th, 10:00am – 2:00pm: Annual Guild Auction
Each member is asked to contribute at least two items which can be yarn, fiber, knitting, spinning and weaving books, eggs, plants, fiber equipment, basically things that are spinning, knitting and weaving-related. Bring your cash or checkbook to join in the fun. Plan on arriving early in order to display your donations and get a good view of all the items prior to the start of the auction.

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.

Come support the guild’s annual CNY Fiber Frolic.

Saturday/Sunday May 6-7th: Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, West Friendship, MD
One of the largest festivals of its kind celebrating all things sheep, from hoof to handwoven.

Saturday May 20th, 10:00am – 2:00pm: Open Spin
Bring your spinning, knitting, crocheting, etc for a relaxing time of crafting and conversation.

Guild members will demonstrate spinning in our Golden Fleece Spinners’ Society booth.
